The owners wanted the back of the house shaded without posts landing in the middle of the view, and without a set of screens that had to be operated one at a time.
One screen, full span
A single motorized screen can cover an opening up to thirty feet wide, which meant the main span needed no intermediate support at all. Fewer verticals, fewer tracks, and nothing interrupting the line of the patio.
Fabric choice
SunTex solar mesh in the higher UV range for a west elevation, which takes the heat and the glare off the seating without closing the view down. Fabric colour was picked against the stonework rather than the frame, which is usually what keeps a screen from looking bolted on.
Control
Everything runs from one handheld remote, with the option to add scheduling or voice control later through Alexa or Google Home. Lifetime warranty on the motor and the frame, ten years on the fabric.
